The Twospot Hogfish (Bodianus Bimaculatus), Twospot Candy Hogfish, is also known as the Two Spot Hogfish, Twin Spot Hogfish, Twinspot Hogfish, Two Spot Candy Hogfish, Yellow Hogfish, Yellow Candy Hogfish, Two Spot Slender Hogfish, and Twospot Slender Hogfish. Hogfish (Bodianus) get their name from the way they look for food in the substrate using their snout.

It is small and slender with yellow body and a black spot on the gill cover and at the base of the tail. It may have thin reddish stripes or slightly reddish coloration on the upper body. This species can reach a length of 10 cm (3.9 in).

A 30 gallon or larger aquarium with hiding places should be provided. They are active swimmers and are best kept in a tank with plenty of room for them to swim. They also spend much of their time picking at rockwork in the search for tiny animals living within.

It is a very peaceful fish that adjusts quickly to most aquariums. If more than one Candy Hogfish is going to be added to the tank, it is very important to do this simultaneously as they will be slightly territorial among themselves. When full grown, mature the Candy Hogfish may take a liking to smaller ornamental shrimp that are introduced after the hogfish is established in the reef aquarium. They can be housed with larger community tankmates like angels, tangs, damsels and some of the more peaceful triggers.

This species can change gender from female to male. When a male is needed, a female changes sex and takes on the role.

The diet consisting of meaty foods including vitamin enriched brine shrimp or mysis shrimp is preferred, as well as a high quality marine flake food.
